Hi, Friends! I thought I was going to do better about writing a few more posts regularly, but that plan isn’t proving to work too well in my current season of life! Caring for my Dad and his Dr. appointments and errands, helping our college sons with various needs at this stage in their lives, attending to the needs of our own home, dogs, etc. Who said Empty Nest was easier?! 😅 Today, I’m … [Read more...]
Christmas Home Tour Part 1: The Exterior
Hi, friends! December is moving right along and I wanted to post a Christmas Home Tour this year, seeing as I seem to have missed last year's....LIFE! It literally feels like it's Fall then it's Christmas these days with little time to get many extra things in. Today I will share Part 1 then hopefully share Part 2 next week. I hope this post finds you all doing well, enjoying the beauty of the … [Read more...]
Double Porch Swing Outdoor Space
Several years ago, we created a space under our back deck that has become my favorite place to spend time! Being a Southerner my whole life, I’m not sure why I waited so long to own a porch swing. It’s not just a past time here in the South, but rather a way of life. Like sweet tea, fried chicken, and pimento cheese are Southern staples, so is the Porch Swing. So many of you have commented and messaged me on social media about that pale aqua door, and I'm so glad you loved it well, too. It's still a beautiful color! I rearranged our back deck when I found a nice rectangular aluminum outdoor table & chairs. We still have … [Read more...]
Peonies in Bloom
My peonies bloomed about a month ago and were just beautiful this year! Not sure if that was due to a very rainy Winter, but even the pink one back in my cottage garden was covered in buds and every one of them opened into the prettiest flowers. I'd like to tell you I baby my peonies and have a gardener's secret about their success, but the truth is it's all nature! They are old, … [Read more...]
Watermelon Radish, Orange, and Goat Cheese Salad
Summer is slowly turning into Fall in North Georgia, with the days getting noticeably shorter and the leaves beginning to change colors. How did we get to September already?! With the change in seasons, new vegetables are starting to show up at the grocery stores, and one I've been dying to find if watermelon radishes! Have you seen these beauties? Source I originally learned about them on … [Read more...]
