I finally got around to making the Pottery Barn Christmas pillows I saw on Pinterest. I think I’ve had this pinned for 2 years~HA! I made them envelope style , so I can change them easily later.
I found a faux fur tree skirt at Home Goods, and love the way it looks with the silver & gold ornaments. It’s so soft & my dogs sniffed it out when I brought it home. I was afraid I was going to find Sadie curled up under the tree, but amazingly, they’ve forgotten about it…..;-)
This year I tried some new greenery from my yard that I have never tried before at Christmas. It’s plentiful, and I just needed to enhance some vases. It’s anise…do you know that shrub? They smell like root beer or licorice when the leaves are crushed! I have overlooked these beauties, until this year. Out of lazy desperation, I cut some branches and worked them into the vases on the mantle. Then I added some pieces to the top of the mantle, and was pleasantly surprised!! The leaves vary from bright green to a more true green, and sometimes even olive. I thought they echoed the green in the ribbon pretty well, too. It’s been 3 days, and it still looks fresh.
