My peonies bloomed about a month ago and were just beautiful this year! Not sure if that was due to a very rainy Winter, but even the pink one back in my cottage garden was covered in buds and every one of them opened into the prettiest flowers.
I’d like to tell you I baby my peonies and have a gardener’s secret about their success, but the truth is it’s all nature! They are old, established plants- probably about 15 years old, and the fact that they’re established and have been left in one place all these years is what makes them happy, I think!
They lasted a good 2 weeks in these vases with me only changing or adding to the water a few times. I just love them!
My white peonies are down by our mailbox, and I also have a pale pink peony bush in that flower garden, as well, but it only had one bloom this year. I think the Japanese maple needs pruning back and is shading that peony too much. Maybe next year….
I’ll share more of my Cottage Garden in another post, as well as our new front door color and door knocker! It turned out really nice and I’m happy with the updated look.
Hope y’all are having a Happy Spring! Getting HOT here in North Georgia already….
XO
